Кonstantin Мercurievich Mamontov - is a well-known artist in the republic of Sakha, Russia and abroad. He was born in 1949 in Sheya, Suntar ulus in family of the participant of Great Native war and the first mother - heroine in Sheya. He is the fifteenth child.
He began labor activity from 1967. After finishing the Yakut art school he worked as the artist – bone cutter at souvenir factory "Sardaana" in Yakutsk, has created 20 standards of author's works which have been introduced into manufacture. Subsequently he finished art - graphic faculty of Novosibirsk state university the Academy of arts of Russia. He successfully taught plotting, drawing, labor training at schools Verkhoyansk and Vilyuisk uluses, in Vilyuisk pedagogical school named after N.G.Chernyshevskiy, in college of technology and design of traditional crafts of peoples of Yakutia, in Krasnoyarsk state art institute named after V.I.Surikov. K.M.Mamontov's pupils successfully participated at all-Union, international exhibitions, were awarded with diplomas, medals, the permit abroad. Now his graduates work in various uluses of republic, regions of Russia and abroad, have grown up to the managerial personnel of republic, became candidates of sciences, honored pupils of culture, education of Yakutiya, were selected deputies of the State assembly (Il Tyumen). The artist - teacher puts into practice multistage professional art education: he opened art school in Viluyuisk, unique in group of Villyui regions; he opened branch of arts and crafts (an art bone) in college of technology and design of traditional crafts of peoples of Yakutia; training on a direction «decorative - an applied art and national crafts» (an art bone) in the Arctic state institute of culture and arts. К.М. Mamontov – is not only the teacher, bone cutter, but also the sculptor who applied the big efforts in business of perpetuating of memory of falling soldiers in Great Native war. He is an author and the executor of monumental constructions - three squares of the Victory in Vilyuisk, in Togus village, in Sheya village, three bronze busts to Heroes of Soviet Union N.S.Stepanov, N.A.Kondakov, A.A.Mironov for the squares in Balagacha village and Jemkon village of Vilyuisk village. He is an author of a bust to the first Hero of Socialist Work P.H.Starovatov. He built entrance and exit arches «Welcome!», «Happy journey!», obelisks, issued the park of culture and sports stadium in Vilyuisk. As the artist – bone cutter he created more than 1700 author's works, he is the participant of many city, republican, all-Union, international exhibitions in Japan, France, Canada. Austria, Romania, Germany, Finland, the USA and other cities. The artist adequately represents arts and crafts of Yakutia and Russia and abroad. He accepted the most active participation in becoming and registration of a unique museum in the world of national pedagogics of K.S.Chirjaev in Orosu village of Verchnevilyuisk ulus, a museum of national education named after G.D.Donskoy in Vilyuisk. His author's works filled up art fund of many Russian and foreign museums. The artist- teacher transfers pedagogical creative experience outside republic, repeatedly carried out masters-classes on Tymir, in high schools of Saint Petersburg and abroad - in the center of education of Lappish region (Finland). By him in ASICaA a student Laura Tuominen from Finland has successfully passed a curriculum on arts and crafts. К.М. Mamontov a number years successfully worked as the vice-president of the Union of artists of Yakutia. He is a senior lecturer of the Arctic state institute of culture and arts. К.М. Mamontov has the big merits in business of education and training of young generation, propagation and developments of national and craft arts. К.М. Mamontov - is the deserved artist of the Russian Federation, the honored worker of arts of the Sakha Republics (Yakutia), the honored pupil of national education, the senior lecturer of the Arctic state institute of culture and arts.
